My love and passion for animals started at a very young age. I have grown up on a lifestyle block with my dogs, cat, sheep, goat, chickens, ducks and fish! My uncles and aunts are all farmers so I have always been round small and big animals. I have done a few house sits and visits for family and friends which have included taking care of their dogs and cats.
I am a 22 year old with free time on my hands over the summer and would love to spend it helping others out and taking care of animals before I start my big girl job in the city in March.&nbsp;
I love taking care and treating our animals because they bring so much joy and happiness to our lives.&nbsp;
FUN FACT: my dream job when I was a kid was to be a dog handler at the airport (and still is ;) ).&nbsp;

I live on a small life style block 'Waikawa Sanctuary' with my horses, ducks, dog, chickens &amp; cats. Waikawa Sanctuary is Bio Dynamic property to nurture the good health of its occupants. It provides a health base where my animals can live out natural lives with in nature. I am open to unvaccinated animals. I embody a holistic/naturalistic approach to animal &amp; human health.
I grew up in a household with cats &amp; dogs. I got my first horse at eleven. I'm a trained primary and kindergarten teacher. Working in Waldorf and Christian schools/ kindergarten. I enjoy Beaches, rivers and parks. Waikawa Beach &amp; stream attracted my nature loving soul and we settled here on the banks of her tributaries.
I have been walking dogs for many years, I enjoy walking long distances &amp; find dogs good company, their antics make me smile and laugh. Roaming the wild spaces with a companion fills something in me.
Animals and children generally seem to be attracted to me, not because I'm all over them, but because I'm attentive to their needs and body language. I set firm boundaries and expectations that are easy to follow, rewarding good behaviour. Allowing a positive relationship to develop built on mutual trust &amp; respect.
I welcome the opportunity to met more beautiful animals and their owners, finding out what they want for their animals and how I can contribute to the process of happy pets and owners.

Kia ora!I'm Bridgette and my son Zavier (8) and I live near Waikawa Beach in Manakau. We moved here from Upper Hutt in April 2023 after we lost our own dog and we love it so much. Zavier grew up with our Rottweilers Max and Lola until they both passed away and we have spend the last the last 18 months healing from our loss. We both love dogs so much but unfortunately it's not the right time for us to make a permanant commitment with a new member to our family so as we get so much joy from having animals in our lives we would love to help you out.In the past I have volenteered for the Rottweiler Rescue and Rehoming charity and walked dogs for HUHA in Otaki, and as a big breed owner i'm used to managing what comes with that. I'm currently training for the NZ Great Walks, the first being Tongaririo on my birtday at the end of November so a walking buddy would be ideal. I regulary venture down to Waikawa Beach and the bush walk near the closed Waikawa Campsite. Childfriendly is not a deal breaker as Zavier will likely be at school but around on the weekends.Along with Dog walking (including pick up and drop off)  I can come to your house and feed your other pets and provide company as required.I'd love to hear from you.Ngā mihiBridgette&nbsp;
