************************************************************************************************* SPECIAL NOTE: DAY CARE DAYS ARE FULL. ***************************************************************************************************
Hi, my name is Travis and I am a true animal lover.
Over the years I have had ducks, chooks, guinea pigs, rabbits, pigs, dogs and
cats. I have had 6 dogs in total over 30 something years which include my
current dogs Gauge and Marty. My main motivation for doing this is pure and
simple, I love dogs. I'm very fortunate that I can work fully from home and my
hours are flexible. I'd like to put your mind at ease that while you're at work
or away, your dog is being well looked after and being a part of our family
while you're not around.
***************************************************************************************************
SPECIAL NOTE: ***Gauge, Marty and all our pack dogs for daycare are non-dominant dogs, many who like their own space and struggle with dominant dog energy or boisterous dog energy. To ensure the harmony of my regular daycare pack I'm unable to take any dominant energy dogs, or dogs
above a 5/10 energy level for boarding or daycare (the occasional zoomies is fine). It's not fair on our existing pack, or the incoming doggo. If I had to describe the energy level of our pack it's around a 3/10.

GAUGE: Lab x German Short Haired Pointer - 5 years old: She is our super
sweet girl - with a Labrador appetite and a GSP nose. She loves to follow me
around the house, watching everything that I do. I secretly think it's because
she is hoping that I'll give her a treat or drop a crumb somewhere. We are
training Gauge on some scent work, which she absolutely loves. She'll also be
starting agility soon. Fave treats: Possyum Fave thing to do: Looking for
rabbits
MARTY: English Pointer x - 1 year old: Marty is our sweet Saving Hope rescue
boy, he didn't have the greatest start to life, so he is sometimes nervous and
shy around new humans. At the moment we are working on building his confidence,
which is going great, and we'll eventually start training him for dog agility
too. He absolutely loves playing with other dogs, he forgets all his worries
when he is with his doggo friends. Fave treats: Duck tenders Fave thing to do:
Play fetch with the rope ball.
MEET AND GREET
We'll arrange a time for you to come to our place,
meet us and take a look around. It's also a good time to chat over what a
normal day in the life is for your dog. Any special needs that they might have
and that everyone gets on with each other.
DAY CARE DROP OFF AND PICK UP
Pick up and drop offs from 0630 to 1900 - I may
also be able to pick up and drop off your pooch if it's not too far away -
please message if you'd like more details on this.
WHAT DOES A DAY LOOK LIKE WITH US
This is what ournormal day looks like - when we
have our meet and greet, we will discuss what your dog’s daily routine looks
like so we can keep things as consistent as possible for them. I'll only take
one additional dog a day to my own two, so that I can give them all the time
and attention that they need.
0530 - Wake up
0630 - Morning walk - normally around 30 minutes to
1 hour, we use this time to practise our walking on a lead. ball chasing, tug
toys, sniffing and exploring, some of our walking parks are Creamery Road.
Botanical Gardens, Meols Reef and Mount Albert/Owairaka. I hand feed Marty and
Gauge, so they get given most of their breakfast during their morning walk.
0800 - Morning nap time
1000 - Play session
1100 - Arvo walk time - we're normally out for
around 3 hours
1400 - Snack and afternoon naps
1700 - Play session
1800 - Dinner and pats
2100 - Bed time
NAP AND BEDTIMES:
We have two large metal crates, two smaller soft
crates, two dog beds and two little dog couches for naps and bedtimes, during
the meet and greet we'll discuss what your dog’s needs are to keep them as
comfortable as possible during their stay.
PLAY TIME:
Paddling pool, licky mats, treats in a towel,
hidden treats around the house, tug toy games, crate games, ball chasing and
fetch, running and playing with each other.
LEARNING TIME:
Sit, down, stay, come, up on place, shake, find,
bring, drop it, leave it, also happy to continue with any other training that
you are doing with your doggo.
SNACKS AND MEALTIMES:
It's best that you supply your dog’s food for their
day to avoid upset stomachs, however, let me know what treats you normally give
your dog so that I can stock up :). There are plenty of water bowls for thirsty
pooches throughout the day
TREATS:
The treats I like to use are Possyum, duck tenders,
chicken tenders, boiled/roast chicken - let me know if there is a different
treat that your dog absolutely loves.
PHOTOS AND VIDEOS:
I'll give you as many updates as you need, while
your pooch is staying with us. With your permission we'll also post pics or
videos of the dogs throughout the day. This is more so that you can see all the
fun that they are having.
Feel free to send through any questions which you
might have for us.
