About Georgina and Josh

We're Georgina and Josh, a couple in our late twenties who are currently living the van life dream in our personally renovated Toyota Hiace.

We absolutely adore animals and hope to have some pets of our own in the future but realise that our current lifestyle is not the ideal choice to have a pet at this time, so we would love to offer our services and help look after yours.

We both met a year and a half ago in Tauranga at a hostel that Georgina was working at and Josh ended up staying in for a few months before we both decided to start travelling together and have loved every minute since :)

We've both had plenty of experience growing up with pets and have both done various pet-sits for family friends over the years with Georgina also pet-sitting for a family in California through Trusted Housesitters which she absolutely loved.

We are currently working part time in Papamoa as a receptionist and housekeeper (Georgina) and a groundskeeper and maintenence (Josh) and have plenty of free time to devote to properly caring for and looking after your pets.

We know that a kennel or cattery is not the best first choice for your furry friends and we would love to become that first choice for you instead, ensuring your pets are still going about their daily routines and are in an environment that is comfortable for them :)

Georgina: "I'm a kiwi born and raised in Taranaki and grew up with the most gorgeous dog in the world (I'm very biased) called Rufus who was a briard and kind of became a local celebrity in New Plymouth, with people stopping us on almost every walk we went on wondering what kind of dog he was. I also grew up with a cat called Tigger who was originally a stray and one of the wildest cats to begin with but eventually decided that our home was the place for him and settled in very well with the family... he even ended up getting along with Rufus (most days). Finally we have Owen (who was also originally a stray) who joined our family later in life and settled right in. He's a sucker for a warm lap to sit on at night and is now so domesticated that he will meow at you until you give him a brush. Sadly he is the family cat and we are now living in the van so we've said goodbye for now but we always make sure to give him lots of love when we visit my parents."

Josh: "Originally from Ramsgate in England, the range of pets in our house was always interesting. For most of my childhood I had a cat in the house. First was Max, a beautiful black cat that we rescued who became the most loving animal I've ever had. Second was Gino, a runt-of-the-litter with a serious Napoleon syndrome and unfortunate life in and out of surgeries, but lived great moments with my Mum and my family. Finally, Maxie, my step-mums cat who spent all day and night outside, but loved that sweet-spot after dinner in front of the TV where he always had a snooze on a lap, almost ordering us to finish our dinner faster. Along with snakes, fish and birds, we had varied company in my houses growing up. Dogs didnt come until my Dad met my step-mum and introduced me to Millie, a beautiful elderly golden retriever who was the most well-behaved and caring dog I'd ever seen. Many an evening lying on the floor with her cuddled up next to me. Finally, Tess, the happiest springer spaniel you have ever met, living for runs out in the farms near my Dad's house and trained under the greatest of mild-mannered mothers in Millie, she's a dog I had so much difficulty saying goodbye to when I first flew to New Zealand a year and a half ago but have been lucky enough to see again on a trip back to the UK a few months ago."
