Kia ora, I'm Janine (female, English, mid 40s) and I love animals and I have cared for a variety of animal species, which includes walking a mountain lion for 8 hours a day in the Bolivian jungle for a month, as well as volunteering with monkeys, caimens, dogs, an otter and coatis. I have also volunteeed at the Wellington Zoo, NZ and a zoo in Texas, USA. I have also completed month long house sitting for a few people in New Zealand which included beautiful cats and some chickens and I did a bit of gardening for the home owners too, I still regularly house and pet sit for two of the families.

I am interested in supporting you with your pet needs either in your home or in mine. I have a two bedroom home, a back garden, which is fenced however this is only approx 4ft high on one side, this hasn't been a problem to date for any dogs I have cared for at my home,  so please take this into account when booking and consider your pets needs, HRV and a heat pump. I am based in Trentham, Upper Hutt with flexible working arrangements, which include working from home a few days a week.

What can I offer dog owners? Up to two dogs from the same home; Dog walking lengths will depend upon your dog,  though I am training for a marathon so long walks are an option if needed, and I love hiking too; Two dog walks per day; depending on your dogs needs I can administer medicine; Sleeping arrangements/requirements are to be discussed for your dog.

What can I offer cat owners? My preference is to visit your home to care for your cat, feed then and give cuddles, this can be an overnight arrangement or once a day.
