Hey I'm Emily, I'm currently available for a range of pet services locally. I have twelve years experience working professionally with animals - I've worked at a dog groomers, doggy day care, at the SPCA, at a dog boarding facility, and most recently I worked as an Animal Control Officer for 4 years. I currently work as a training and kennel assistant with working dogs. I also have experience looking after farm pets such as pigs, chickens, sheep etc as I lived on a lifestyle block for 7 years when I was younger.
I hold a Certificate in Animal Care and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Animal Welfare and Management.
Outside of work, I have been fostering dogs and cats on and off for the past 12 years. I have fostered a few hundred ranging from very young kittens and puppies, to senior dogs, and dogs with specific behavioural and training needs. This has given me a lot of experience working with animals of different personalities and needs.
I currently share my home with an 11 year old Staffy, and two fluffy cats.
I am available to:
-Pop in and feed your pets once or twice a day (generally before/after I finish work), refill food, water, clean their litter box etc and administer medications if needed (can be discussed). I will also play with them if they are into it!
-Walk your dog around neighborhood (can be discussed, generally on lead, after I finish work and approx 1/2 hour - negotiable).
-Basic dog training - can be discussed.
