Kia ora, my name is Ala!

I am 27 years old and currently in my final year of studying outdoor education and sustainability. I live in Sumner with my partner Freddy in a fully fenced backyard that backs out onto a park!
We love living by the beach and spend our time surfing, biking, walking, tramping and exploring out in the hills. The only thing missing from our life is a dog to share it with!

We have both lived with dogs most of our lives and love having a companion. We are responsible, active and will make sure your dog is very well loved and taken care of!
One of our previous dogs, Pippa, was a rescue dog who had experienced severe trauma, so she had high anxiety very high needs. We are used to dealing with dogs that take extra care, patience and love so they can feel safe.

I am a keen walker and runner, so would happily walk dogs up to 10km or two smaller walks twice a day, or take them on a 5-15km run (depending on their ability). High energy dogs are no worries! Having a friend makes walking and running so much more fun!

As I am a student and Freddy works mainly in the Sumner area, we can be very flexible with our schedule. I very happy to meet you and your dog on a walk before confirming a stay at our house to make you feel at ease.

Services I offer:

Dog-boarding- having your dog come stay at our whare, be cared for if they were our own and go on adventures with us

Doggy day-care- Care and walks during the day (dependent on university schedule, but please ask!)

Dog walking - available for people who live in the Sumner/ Redcliffs/ Heathcote/ Ferrymead area
