About Cassandra
Hi! I'm Cassandra.
I am an animal lover, favourites being cats. I am South African. I immigrated to New Zealand in 2023. I grew up with dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters, birds and fish.
In the past I have fostered kittens through an organisation. My two cats are foster fails, who immigrated with me. I have also fed feral colonies in South Africa. These cats are not lap cats. We love them by feeding them and admiring them at a distance.
I have done a short wildlife rehabilitation course, then volunteered for an organisation in South Africa (South African Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre) for a period of 7 months. I stabilised birds before going to the rehabilitation centre. My main intakes were dog and cat catches.
I volunteer for SPCA Whakatane every fortnight, seeing to the cats.
At the moment, I am a stay-at-home mum. I have a 2 year old daughter, who often comes along with me wherever I go. My daughter has learnt with our two cats, to be cautious and only touch if I allow her.
I am readily available.
My one cat has a medical condition, I give him oral medication every day. I am confident with giving medication should your pet need it.
It is important for a cats area to be clean. Cats litter trays and eating areas should be cleaned daily. Let your cat feel at home, while at home!
My home visits are focused on, but not limited to, cats. Home visits are ideal for small pets.
Every day I visit I will attend to the following:
- See to litter trays (give proper clean if longer than 4 days)
- Clean pets dishes
- Feed
- Give fresh water
- Give medication (non-injectable) if required.
- Playtime, combing (if your pet likes it).
- Update owner with photo and any out of the ordinary information.
- Emptying letter box, watering plants if required, Taking out bins if required.
